My impression of Into the Wild was that it was going to be a very adventurous book, which it was. All of the parts about the men going on crazy trips were all appealing to me. The only thing I didn't like about the book was that the order of the book got confusing because it went from people finding him dead to him dying. If you're a person who enjoys reading adventure books, then it's the book for you. It is definitally worth reading if you're into that kind of stuff. This book tells us about life because most of us takeadvantage of it. McCandless wanted to put all of the things he owned and just live off the wild. To me, this is a good book because I enjoyed reading about Chris' life and all of the struggles he had to go through and all of the good people he met. (Chapter 8)- In this chapter, it has so much to do with all of the men who went out to climb mountains and prove that they can live without modern technology. This goes back to if you like adventure books; this would be the best chaoter for them.
Most people would say that Chris was a crazy person and was just doing it for the attention. I think that he was making a statement that we take most of the things we have for granted. He was also rebelling from his parents because they gave him so many things that he didn't even want. I do not agree with the critics because I think they were being a little harsh on Chris. I also do not agree with them because Chris was a young kid, so he made a few mistakes that changed his life, but he did what he thought was right and people don't know him well enough to judge him as being a crazy person. "McCandless was hardly unique." (page 71, Chapter 8) I do not think this statment, written by Nick Jans, because I think McCandless was a unique person. He did whatever he wanted and everyone is unique in his/her own way.

Assignment #4
The first flashback in the movie is really the second flashback in the movie. The second scene where he found the bus before in the earlier part of the movie, but really this happens in the later chapters which means their switching things around. The final time was because his sister never had a lot of talking parts but when she was talking in the background, but she is in the movie. The images in the beginning of the film were cool because they showed all the different types of mountains from high. The image of the ice sickles in front of Chris makes it seem like there is going to be a long adventure. This flashbacks right before he graduates but in the movie the first flashback is when he was in South Dakota. The bus isn't the exact bus, but really looks like it. The ending shots with Chris about to die and the sun coming out were sad because he had said that the sun shines on people who love and are loved; the sun shined on him right as he died. Parts of the film that made the story clearer was when Chris's parents bought him the car and it showed how much Chris didn’t want their help. The part when Chris met Ronald Franz really made it clear how much Franz wanted to help Chris and how he wanted him in his life. The music in the parts of the movie where Chris was walking down the street set the mood that he was alone most of the cars that passed him didn’t want to pick him up. Throughout the movie, the music seemed to stay the same and not change. Overall , I enjoyed watching the movie because it really helped me understand the emotions, because they were portrayed in the actors, instead of just imagining them in my head.

Assignment #3
The object I would use to put all of my memories on would be a basketball. The first design on the ball would be a big water slide from when my family and I went to Aruba. I loved the giant water slide that was outside of our hotel. The second thing I would put on it would be the SMS (St. Margaret's School ) symbol because the school is where I met all of my friends that I'm still friends with today. The third symbol would be a a picture of the group the Black Eyed Peas because I think their the best singing group ever. All of their songs just make you want to dance! The forth symbol would be a picture of Spongebob Squarepants because he is the best under-water character ever. I grew up watching Spongebob so I know pretty much everything about him. The fifth symbol I would put on the ball would be a roller coaster going across the whole ball because I love roller coasters because some of them are such a thrill. The sixth thing I would put on my belt would be a monkey because monkeys are the best animalsin the world. The seventh picture I would put on my belt would be a picture of my parents, my sisters, and I all together because I never want to forget my family if we ever go in different directions. The final symbol on my basketball would be a picture of the Facebook logo because I can't live without it. It's pretty much the best thing ever invented. Even though I wouldn't be able to put all of my favorite things/memories on my basketball these eight are the most important to me.

4. Alex pulled our a crude map (5)
5. He had no ax (5)
Summary
So far, Alex seems to be a very adventurous guy, always wanting to be moving around and not staying in one place for to long. He seems to enjoy the help from all of the people he has met. If I were to see McCandless on the side of the rode, I probably wouldn't pick him up because I wouldn't want to pick up a stranger I didn't know. Sfter he read the books by Jack London, I think he wanted to live out the adventures he had read about. At some points or Chris's jounery, I think he is a nutcase for actually doing all those things, but I know that he was being safe and getting the help from other people really brought up his energy because they were all supportive of what he was doing at that time.

NATURE
When I think of nature I think of tall grasses like in a field or meadow and I also think of the jungle. When I think of the tall grasses in a meadow orfield it makes me think of like a farm with a fence and maybe a few horses. When I think of the jungle there is so many things to think about like the monkeys swinging from the vines or the water dripping from the trees from the soft midst. Natured can impact our everyday lives because some people can eat nature like leaves in a salad. The jungle doesn't really impact my life, but it might impact other peoples lives like people who live in the jungle.
In some of my classes, mainly Earth Science, we do learn some things about nature. The main things that we have learned about are earthquakes and how they impact our lives. We don't really talk much about tall grasses like I mentioned before or about the jungle, just the earthquakes. One experience I have had with nature is when it had snowed this past week. It was a good experience because we didnt have school and I could go sledding outside, but it was bad because it was cold and we still had to do homework while we weren't at school.
